There are safe alternatives to driving under the influence of alcohol. One such option is WeDrive, a ‘take me home’ service offered by MiWay. This service lets you have all the fun, without any of the drawbacks – and best of all, you are driven home safely in your own car after a night out.

Free for qualifying clients*

Policyholders who have a car insured with MiWay, and have the MiHelp option enabled, can book 6 free trips a year with WeDrive. The policyholder may book WeDrive for any person driving the risk vehicle.

There is no activation needed and no upfront costs.

How to use WeDrive

Booking a WeDrive trip is so easy! Just tap the WeDrive option on the MiWay App or call 08600 767 64 (or 08600 SOS MI).

Bookings can be made from a week to 2 hours in advance (during operating hours). Two drivers are dispatched to your location at the agreed time and they'll call you once they've arrived.

You're then driven home safely in the comfort of your own car.

When can you use WeDrive?

Depending on government regulations, pickup times may change. Please confirm your pickup times with our MiHelp call centre.

Make a booking at least 48 hours in advance for collections at peak times. These include over weekends, public holidays (the night before and on the day) and, in some instances, major public events that happen within the covered areas.

Where is WeDrive available?

The WeDrive service is available in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit, George, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and East London.
